Sarna’s order quashed, Makkar in Power in Patna Gurdwara Management Committee

Sarna order quashed by Patna session court, Makkar again in power in Patna Gurdwara management Committee. Avtar Singh Makkar, SGPC’s former chief, head the Takht Patna Sahib Gurdwara managing committee, while Jathedar Avtar Singh will remain the President. The bench of Chief Justice of Patna High Court has today dismissed the order passed by the Patna Sahib Committee for appointing Sardar Harvinder Singh Sarna as the President of the Patna Gurudwara Management Committee.  Earlier, a session court of Patna had quashed the Sarna led management committee on November 7 while handing over the control to Avtar Singh Makkar. The historic gurdwara at Patna Sahib is the birth place of the 10th Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh. Sarna got control of the gurdwara panel during a meeting held on September 3. The meeting was declared invalid by Makkar then. Following this, a petition was also filed by Sikh activist Amarjit Singh in the local court against Sarna. -PTC News
