In the wake of coronavirus spread, it has been decided that the Delhi Metro services will remain completely closed till March 31. The move is aimed at controlling the spread of the coronavirus by ensuring social distancing and encouraging people to stay at home for the time being.

The Delhi Metro system will, however, continue to be powered for essential internal operational maintenance activities during this duration and security of the system will continue to be taken care of by CISF.

Meanwhile, DS Mishra, Secretary Housing in a message to all MDs, said, that this is being done in continuation of the closing down of metro services on Sunday, which is being observed as Janta Curfew. This will help in breaking the chain of further spread of coronavirus, he added.

Likewise, all the MDs have been urged to kindly inform the public through Print/ Electronic/Social Media and website extensively so that no one faces inconveniences from Monday onwards. For now, all the Chief Secretaries have been sanitized.
