India's two COVID-19 vaccines are in phase 1 and 2 of trials: Health Ministry
The Health Ministry on Tuesday said that the Centre is discussing how the coronavirus vaccine will be procured and distributed to all. Dr. VK Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog, said that "India's two COVID-19 vaccines are in phase 1 and 2 of trials. Discussions have already begun how will the vaccines be made available to all those who need it."
Also, Dr Sujeet Kumar Singh, Director, National Centre for Disease Control, said that "8 out of 11 districts have seroprevalence more than 20 percent. In central, northeast, north, and Shahdara districts have seroprevalence of about 27 percent."
He added that the sero surveillance was done in Delhi to estimate the prevalence of COVID-19 infection among the general community of Delhi. "Nearly 6 months into the pandemic, 22.86 percent people affected; 77 percent population susceptible, Surjeet added.
