We've dramatically accelerated the development of potential vaccines, says Donald Trump

United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that the country is doing something very dramatic and there hasn't been anything like what it has done since the mobilisation since World War II.

Donald Trump said that "We're doing something very dramatic and there hasn't been anything like what we have done since the mobilisation since World War II. We've dramatically accelerated the development of new therapies and potential vaccines. We have 90 clinical trials underway and hundreds more on way."

"Something is going to happen. Tremendous progress being made. Don't want to talk about it until it's there. But I'll say they really are making progress. Johnson and Johnson's folks have been really fantastic. They want to get to it fast. We'll all know very soon," he added.

He also said that "Thanks to the profound commitment of our citizens, we have flattened the curve and countless American lives have been saved. Our country is now in the next stage of the battle - a very safe phased and gradual reopening, reopening our country."

The United States has so far reported over 1,237,761 cases of coronavirus while the country has recorded 72,275 deaths so far. Meanwhile, 200,669 COVID patients have been recovered. A total of 3,728,346 cases have been reported from across the globe with 258,361 deaths that have been reported so far. Likewise, 1,242,615 cases have been recovered so far.
