Dasuya : After assurance from admnistration, farmers end protest, lift dharna Following an assurance from the administration that their pending sugarcane payments will be cleared before the end of the month, about 1,500 farmers, who have been holding a protest on the rail track for the past 24 hours, cleared the track. The farmers has been called for a meeting with the officials of the administration,on Monday. Due to farmer’s protest,nearly 35 trains had to be cancelled, 16 were diverted via Amritsar while 20 trains were short terminated," -PTC News
