PTC Web Desk: A case has been filed against Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma for allegedly using inappropriate and offensive language during a college event in Dehradun, the police said on Monday.

According to City Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar, the action was taken after videos of the incident went viral on social media. The complaint was filed by Pranchal Nauni, a student representative of the ‘Satyam Shivam’ organisation at DAV College.

In the complaint, it was stated that during the event held on Saturday, which was organised by the students’ union, the singer’s remarks offended students as well as members of the public present there.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and started an investigation.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had attended the event but left before the alleged incident happened. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Umesh Sharma Kau was present at the venue when the incident took place.
