After three days that the political climate in Karnataka has kept everyone on tenterhooks.
The Supreme Court on Friday ordered that a floor test be held in the Karnataka Assembly at 4 pm on Saturday. The floor test will be held to ascertain whether newly appointed BJP Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa enjoyed majority in the state.
“Let the House decide and the best course would be floor test,” a three-judge bench headed by Justice AK Sikri said.
As Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa was sworn in as the State Chief Minister despite the party falling short of the halfway mark in the Assembly Election, post-poll allies Congress and JD(S) approached the Supreme Court against Governor Vajubhai Vala’s decision inviting him to form the government.
