Mamata Banerjee helicopter injury: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slipped and fell while taking a seat after boarding her helicopter in Durgapur, Paschim Bardhaman today. 

As Mamata Banerjee approached the helicopter, she climbed the movable stairs and was preparing to take her seat inside. At that moment, the helicopter, awaiting the Chief Minister's arrival, was about to take off. 


She reportedly suffered a minor injury and was helped by her security personnel. She continued with her onward travel to Asansol.

The helicopter was flying from Durgapur to Asansol, 41 km away by road.

In March 2024, Bengal Chief Minister suffered major injury to her forehead. 

Banerjee sustained a forehead injury and a cut on her nose following a fall at her Kalighat residence. She was swiftly taken to the state-run SSKM Hospital and was discharged approximately two hours later, having received three stitches on her forehead and one on her nose. 

Voting for three Lok Sabha seats - Balurghat, Raiganj adn Darjeeling-concluded in the second phase of parliamentary election held on Friday. Voting in the state for 42 parliamentary members is set for all seven phases in the ongoing general elections that commenced on April 19 and will conclude on June 1.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal the Trinamool Congress (TMC) won in 22 seats, while the BJP won in 18 seats. Congress emerged victorious in two seats
