Assam flood: Around 54 lakh affected, 81 dead; PM Modi assures support
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday assured support to Assam in dealing with the flood. The natural calamity in Assam has claimed around 81 lives and affected over 54 lakh people across 30 districts.
Recently, PM Narendra Modi spoke to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal about the current situation while the state is dealing with floods. Meanwhile, PM Modi expressed solidarity with the people of Assam. Also, the PM enquired about the coronavirus situation.
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal took to Twitter and wrote: "PM Narendra Modi Ji took stock of the contemporary situation regarding Assam floods, COVID-19 and Baghjan Oil Well fire scenario over the phone this morning. Expressing his concern and solidarity with the people, the PM assured all support to the state."
