ALERT: Few hours left to update FASTag KYC; Here’s how to do it last-minute

PTC News Desk:  An important alert for all those who use their vehicles on highways! 

As per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, FASTags with a valid balance but an incomplete KYC will get deactivated or blacklisted by banks post-January 31. 

With only few hours left to update FASTag KYC all users must ensure that the KYC of their latest FASTag is complete. FASTag users must also comply with 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' and discard all the earlier issued FASTags through their respective banks.

Only the latest FASTag account shall remain active, as previous tags will be deactivated or blacklisted after January 31, 2024. 

How to update FASTag KYC last-minute? 

Those how have completely forgotten to update FASTag KYC; here are last-minute tips and tricks to do so: 

  • Visit the bank's FASTag website where you obtained your RFID document. You can find the specific page by searching the bank's name along with the keyword 'FASTag' on a search engine. 
  • Sign in by using your registered mobile number and entering the OTP received. 
  • Navigate to the My Profile section and access the KYC tab. 
  • Complete the necessary details, including address proof, and submit the information. Once done, the KYC page will display your updated KYC status.

Proof of Identity and Address (Any one of the following):
Passport
Voter's ID
Aadhar Card
Driver's License

NREGA Job Card (signed by a State Government official)
A copy of the vehicle's Registration Certificate
Passport-size Photograph of the Vehicle Owner

How to check Fastag KYC Status? 

To check the Fastag KYC Status applicants can follow the steps given below: 

  • Visit the official website of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) which is fastag.ihmcl.com.
  • Now from the home page click on the login option.
  • After that enter your mobile number, OTP, and Captcha code and click the login option.
  • Now on the new page look for Fastag KYC status and click on it.
  • Enter your Vehicle Registration Number(VRN)/NETC FASTag ID and captcha.
  • Finally, click on the check status option.
  • Your Fastag KYC Status update will appear below.

Notably, FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India that uses Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to enable automatic and cashless toll payments at toll plazas on national highways.
