The accused have been identified as Aman Singh alias Bholu and Gurtej Singh. Both are residents of village Rattangarh under Police Station City Morinda in Rupnagar district.

The arrests were made by the CIA team of Punjab Police. An officer from the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Mohali Police said the operation is still ongoing, so further details cannot be disclosed at this stage.

Earlier, sources had revealed that a GHD2P hand grenade was used in the attack. This type of grenade is manufactured in Pakistan. After detonation, it can be extremely lethal within a radius of 5 to 10 meters, while its fragments can spread up to 20 to 25 meters, posing a serious risk of injury to people nearby.

Two new videos have also surfaced after the attack. In one video, taken minutes before the blast, two suspects are seen standing outside another office near the BJP office. In the second video, both suspects are seen fleeing across the road after the attack.
