PTC News Desk: The Delhi Police have summoned the Al-Falah University chairman in connection with the investigation into the Faridabad terror module and two cases registered against the university for forgery and cheating, an official said on Monday.

The summons were issued after investigators concluded that the university chairman, Javed Ahmad Siddiqui, needed to be questioned to clear up several contradictions related to how the university was being run and the actions of people connected to it.

The Crime Branch has already filed two FIRs against the Haryana-based university for cheating and forgery. These came after the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) reported serious problems in the university’s accreditation documents.

Officials said both agencies found “major irregularities” when reviewing the university’s claims and shared their reports with the police.

According to sources, calling Siddiqui for questioning is part of a broader probe that also connects to the investigation of last week’s blast near the Red Fort.

Some suspects in the blast case are believed to have links with the university, so investigators are now checking its records, finances and administrative approvals.
