Israel-Iran conflict: Airfares skyrocket as Delhi-Abu Dhabi flight price soar to Rs 70,000
PTC News Desk: Airfares between Abu Dhabi and New Delhi have surged sharply this week, with one-way ticket prices touching nearly ₹70,000 as the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel continue to disrupt global aviation routes across the Middle East.
Although flights between the United Arab Emirates and India are still operating, the number of services has reduced significantly, pushing up fares due to limited seats and rising demand. Direct flights on the Abu Dhabi–Delhi route are currently operating at reduced capacity, with only one or two flights available on many days this week, leaving travellers with fewer options.
The situation has created difficulties for many Indian travellers living or working in the UAE, especially those trying to return home urgently.
The reduced flight schedule has also driven ticket prices far above usual levels. Under normal circumstances, a one-way ticket between Abu Dhabi and Delhi typically costs between ₹10,000 and ₹21,500. This week, however, fares have surged well beyond that range.
Flights from New Delhi to Abu Dhabi are still operating, but the number of services remains limited and schedules may change at short notice depending on airspace conditions in the region. On days when only a single flight is available, fares have spiked dramatically, with some tickets this week priced close to ₹69,000.
Interestingly, routes between Dubai and Delhi remain relatively cheaper, largely because a higher number of flights are operating on that sector.
