According to the Commission’s press release, the election schedule will commence with the issuance of notifications on February 26. The deadline for submitting nominations is March 5, followed by scrutiny on March 6.
Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations until March 9. Voting is scheduled for March 16 from 9 am to 4 pm, with the counting of votes set to begin at 5 pm the same day.
The 37 members who are set to retire represent Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana. The Election Commission of India stated that observers will be deployed and detailed ballot-marking procedures will be implemented to ensure the conduct of free and fair polls.
