PTC Web Desk: What was meant to be the beginning of a new chapter in life turned into an unimaginable tragedy for two families after a massive fire in Lucknow's Aliganj area claimed the lives of a young couple who were preparing to get married. Neelesh Kumar, 27, and Anamika Samant, 30, were among the victims of the fire that broke out at an animation training centre operating inside a commercial building on Monday. The incident left at least 15 persons dead and several others injured.

The couple had met while working at the institute and developed a close relationship over the years. Their families had recently agreed to their marriage and preparations for the wedding were already underway.

According to family members, Anamika's parents had travelled from West Bengal to Lucknow just days earlier to meet Neelesh's family. A small family gathering was also held as both sides began discussing wedding plans.

Relatives said the families were preparing for another meeting in West Bengal next week. Train tickets had already been booked and discussions about the wedding had gathered momentum.

Neelesh, described by relatives as hardworking and family-oriented, was looking forward to a promotion and salary increase at work. Family members said he wanted to secure his future financially before getting married and had been contributing towards the construction of a new family home.

Instead of celebrating the upcoming wedding, both families now find themselves mourning an unexpected loss.

The tragedy became even more painful for Anamika's family after her cousin, who also worked at the animation centre, lost her life in the same fire.

Family members said only hours before the incident, conversations were focused on travel plans, wedding arrangements and future celebrations. By evening, those discussions had been replaced by hospital visits and the heartbreaking task of identifying loved ones.

The fire has left several families devastated.
