PTC News Desk: The manager of the Baddo-Patti toll plaza on the Hisar-Chandigarh Highway near Barwala town of Hisar district was killed after being run over by Scorpio in the late hours of Monday.

The police also recovered a pistol from the spot raising suspicious that whether any shots were fired. The incident unfolded reportedly over an argument on the payment of a toll of Rs 130.

Barwala police station SHO Dalbir Singh Punia rushed to the spot and started investigation after registering a case in this regard.

According to sources, the incident began when the toll plaza manager asked a group of youths from a nearby village to show proof of local residence so that they could be exempted from paying the toll fee.

After the youths produced their identification documents, the manager reportedly requested the vehicle's registration certificate for verification. This led to an argument between the two sides.

As the dispute intensified, the youths allegedly attempted to drive away in their vehicle and struck the toll plaza manager. When he fell onto the road, the driver of the Scorpio SUV allegedly ran over him.

The accused then fled the scene immediately after the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter and are working to trace those involved.
