Lucknow fire tragedy: Four arrested, four officials suspended; Kanpur seals 22 coaching hubs
PTC News Desk: Four people have been arrested in connection with a fire incident involving multi-storey building in the Aliganj area of Lucknow, that housed pet shop and gaming zone, while four officials have been suspended.
Officials said the accused are joint owners of the building.
An FIR has been filed at the Aliganj police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Act against six named individuals and others, police said.
The deaadly fire tragedy in Lucknow also triggered crackdown in Kanpur with the authorities sealing 22 coaching centres after inspections found alleged violations of building and safety norms.
The Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) took action after two young animation professionals from Kanpur were among the 15 people killed in the devastating fire that swept through a three-storey commercial building in Lucknow.
The victims were identified as 28-year-old Sanyam Vij and 25-year-old Suraj Bhan Singh. Both worked at the same animation studio operating from the building and were reportedly close friends.
Their deaths have deeply shocked the local community and highlighted the tragic human cost of the fire, which claimed the lives of several young students and professionals pursuing careers in the animation and gaming industry.
