Pan Masala tycoon’s daughter-in-law found dead in Vasant Vihar home; police suspect self-killing

PTC Web Desk: In a tragic incident reported from south Delhi’s upscale Vasant Vihar locality, the daughter-in-law of prominent pan masala businessman Kamal Kishor Chaurasia, the name behind the Kamla Pasand and Rajshree brands, was found dead under circumstances that the police suspect to be suicide.
Deepti Chaurasia, 40, who was married to Kamal Kishor’s son Harpreet Chaurasia, was found hanging in a room of the family residence around noon on Monday. Initial investigations indicate she may have used a dupatta.
Officials said a handwritten note was recovered from her room. While the message reportedly mentions that no one should be held responsible for her death, it also reflects emotional distress. According to sources, the note reads: “If there is no love and trust in a relationship, what is the point of life?”
Investigators are looking into possible family disputes that may have contributed to her mental state. The police have sent the body for post-mortem at Safdarjung Hospital, and further details will be confirmed once the medical report is available. No official statement has yet been released by the Delhi Police.
Deepti and Harpreet had been married since 2010 and are parents to a 14-year-old son.
