PM Modi praises former PM Manmohan Singh, in his farewell address to Rajya Sabha

PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's dedication, highlighting his ability to work even while in a wheelchair. PM Modi's tribute occurred during the farewell session for retiring members of the Rajya Sabha.

In his address to the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi recounted an instance when Dr. Manmohan Singh, despite physical challenges, participated in voting by arriving in his wheelchair.

"This exemplifies a member's commitment to their responsibilities," stated Prime Minister Modi, emphasising Singh's alertness and dedication. The retiring members of the Rajya Sabha are scheduled to receive a farewell at Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar's residence in Delhi later today.

Earlier in the day, Rajya Sabha members convened for a group photo at 10 am at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, followed by the farewell function for retiring members at 6.30 pm at the chairman's residence.
