Salman Khan joins hands with NGO Global Sikhs to help aid flood-affected victims in Assam
The campaign included the distribution of food packets, essential supplies and medicines in affected areas, including Sivasagar.
PTC News Desk: Bollywood actor Salman Khan joined a flood relief dsitribution programme to help those affected in Assam. The NGO in collaboration with the actor has launched campaign “AASHIYANA” Hope begins with a safe shelter, in order to provide roof to the people who have been forced to live under open sky.
The NGO took to its social media and shared the development.
"As part of the second phase of rehabilitation for the Assam flood victims, Global Sikhs, in collaboration with @beingsalmankhan, has initiated the construction of semi-permanent shelters for families who lost everything in the devastating floods," Global Sikhs wrote.
it further added, "Thousands of families have been forced to live under the open sky, on roadsides, and in extremely difficult conditions while heavy rains continue. No one should have to endure such hardship without a roof over their head."

Earlier, also Salman Khan reportedly launched a multi-phase relief drive through the Being Human Foundation and his fan clubs. The campaign included the distribution of food packets, essential supplies and medicines in affected areas, including Sivasagar.
Assam continues to face severe flooding, with Sivasagar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon and Charaideo among the worst-hit districts. According to ANI, floods have affected 379 villages across these districts.
The death toll has risen to 80 after two more deaths were reported. As per the Disaster Reporting and Information Management System (DRIMS) report released on July 31, more than 1.92 lakh people have been affected by the floods across five districts.
According to multiple reports, actor Kartik Aaryan donated ₹1 crore towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
Alia Bhatt highlighted verified donation links to help the displaced people in Assam.
Other celebrities, such as Rohit Shetty, Bhumi Pednekar, Ayushmann Khurrana and more also extended their support.
