PTC Web Desk: A day after Air India flight AI379 encountered severe turbulence while flying from Phuket to Delhi, new videos from inside the aircraft have surfaced on social media, revealing the frightening moments passengers and crew experienced during the incident.

One of the videos has gone viral, showing an air hostess repeatedly urging passengers to remain seated.

"Please fasten your seat belts. Nobody should get up. Fasten your seat belts," she can be heard announcing as the aircraft shook violently.

The 30-second clip captures the aftermath inside the aircraft. Overhead luggage bins are seen hanging open, their covers lying across the aisle, while baggage is scattered on the cabin floor. Visible cracks in the cabin ceiling and damage near overhead compartments highlight the force of the turbulence.

Despite the panic, passengers can be seen trying to comfort one another after the aircraft stabilised.

One woman is seen sitting with her head down, visibly shaken by the incident.

Passenger calls it 'Worst Two Hours of My Life'

A passenger named Minchen, who recorded one of the viral videos, described the experience as the "worst two hours of my life."

Sharing her experience on X, she urged travellers to keep their seat belts fastened throughout a flight, even when the seat belt sign is switched off. She wrote that she witnessed passengers being thrown into the air, hitting the cabin ceiling and suffering injuries.

"I saw people being thrown into the air, hitting their heads, and getting injured. For a while, I genuinely thought we weren't going to make it. I hope everyone is okay," she posted.

Passengers recall the terrifying moments

Several passengers said the aircraft experienced a sudden drop in altitude, causing people who were not securely restrained to be thrown from their seats. One passenger said he struck his head on the cabin roof before falling back into his seat.

Another passenger, Viviana from Italy, told ANI that everything appeared normal until the turbulence suddenly intensified.

According to her, her sister was lifted into the air from her seat during the turbulence, while her mother suffered a head injury. She also said a male passenger nearby had blood on his face.

Viviana described the incident as one of the most frightening experiences of her life, saying many passengers believed the aircraft might not make it safely.

Air India confirms safe landing

Air India said the flight landed safely in Delhi with 137 passengers, including three infants and eight crew members on board.

The airline stated that a few passengers and crew members who sustained minor injuries were taken to a medical facility at Delhi airport for precautionary examination immediately after landing.

Later, eight passengers and four cabin crew members were admitted to hospitals for detailed medical evaluation and treatment. Air India said all those admitted are in stable condition.
