UP tragedy: Elderly woman crushed to death due to handbrake error while helping grandson park his Thar

UP tragedy: A routine act of parking a car turned tragic for a family in Farrukhabad. A 70-year-old woman died after being crushed by a Mahindra Thar that suddenly rolled backward because her grandson forgot to apply the handbrake.
CCTV footage shows the grandson parking the car while the elderly woman opened the gate and stood outside to help. After letting the car in, she began closing the gate. At that moment, the vehicle suddenly moved backward, pushed her out, and pinned her against a wall.
She was quickly taken to a hospital but was declared dead.
The incident happened around 8:30 on Thursday. Police said the car rolled down a slope because the handbrake was not applied.
The woman is heard screaming in confusion as the car trapped her. Her grandson tried to stop the vehicle and called for help, but he could not prevent the accident.
"No formal report or written complaint regarding this matter has been submitted to the local police station by the woman's family members. Necessary action will be initiated upon receipt of a formal complaint. Peace and order currently prevail at the scene," the police said.
