Weather update: Western disturbances to hit North India, check deets

Weather update: Amid bone-chilling winter, unexpected rain accompanied with thunderstorms and cold wave lashed parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi-NCR for last few days. Since Wednesday, several states have been experiencing constant rain, causing a drop in temperature.

Amid the cold weather conditions, another western disturbance is set to alter weather conditions in the mountain regions this weekend.

As per Indian Meteorological Department, rainfall and snowfall is expected between 75 to 100 per cent of the stations this weekend. 

Snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on February 4 and Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and North-West Madhya Pradesh will experience light hailstorms.

Meanwhile, light hailstorm activities are also expected on February 4 in Punjab, Haryana and West UP and even in North-West MP.

Western Disturbance was seen in the Himalayan region and the adjoining plains. On the possibility of a rise in temperature since another Western Disturbance is set to alter weather patterns in north-west and central India, and temperatures will increase during the morning and dense fog may be expected in isolated pockets in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi NCR.

The weather forecasts also predicted that cold wave conditions are expected for next five-seven days in North India.

Meanwhile, dense fog, winter showers and thunderstorm that persists over several parts of North India due to which travellers and passengers all across the nation face delays, cancellation in aviation, road transport and train operations all across the nation.
