PTC Web Desk: Panic gripped several schools in Chandigarh on Thursday morning after fresh bomb threat emails were received by educational institutions across the city. The threats triggered immediate security checks, with Chandigarh Police and bomb detection teams rushing to the campuses to carry out search operations.

Among the schools that reportedly received the emails were St Stephen’s School in Sector 45, Delhi Public School in Sector 40 and Chitkara International School in Sector 25. Officials said more schools could receive similar emails during the day.

Security personnel thoroughly checked the school premises after the alerts were received. After completing the searches, authorities declared the buildings safe and allowed school administrations to continue classes.

This is not the first such incident in the city. In recent months, several schools and government institutions in Chandigarh have received similar bomb threat emails. Earlier, offices, including the Punjab and Haryana High Court, and the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh were also targeted with threat messages.

Police officials said the situation is under control and appealed to residents not to spread rumours or panic. Security agencies remain on alert as investigations into the source of the emails continue.

This marks the fourth incident of bomb threats targeting schools in Chandigarh over the past few months, raising concerns among parents, school authorities and law enforcement agencies.
