Zomato delivery agent killed after speeding cars rams into him in Delhi, accused arrested

PTC News Desk: Days after tragic SUV crash that killed 24-year-old in Delhi's Dwarka, another case of reckless driving in the national capital has come to the fore. A speeding car rammed into a food delivery rider, killing him on the spot.
The incident took place around 4.30 am when the victim, a Zomato delivery executive, was struck by a fast-moving vehicle while passing through the area, police said.
According to the eyewitnesses, the driver of the offending car appeared to be under the influence at the time of the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Hem Shakar, who was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. He was working as a delivery executive and was riding an electric scooty at the time of the incident.
The accused, identified as Mohit Kumar (27), a resident of Najafgarh and an MCD contractor, was immediately taken into custody. The car involved in the accident has been seized, and an FIR has been registered at Tilak Nagar police station.
