NGT fines Rs 50 crore to Punjab govt on river water pollution issue
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs 50 crore to Punjab government on river pollution issue.

According to information, on the basis of the report of Saint Balbir Singh Seechewal, the National Green Tribunal has imposed a penalty of Rs. 50 crore on the Punjab Government.
The Punjab government will recover this penalty from those industries which are polluting the environment. Seechewal Committee will be re-submitting its NGT report in January.
Earlier, National Green Tribunal (NGT) ordered to shut down 57 industrial units in Dera Bassi in Mohali district.
