SAD files complaint against Punjab Cabinet minister Laljit Singh Bhullar for 'casteist remarks'

PTC Web Desk:  The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has lodged a formal complaint against Punjab Cabinet minister Laljit Singh Bhullar for allegedly making casteist remarks during a workers' meeting in Mary Marriage Palace Patti. The complaint was filed with the Election Commission of India, highlighting the Cabinet minister's actions as a serious violation of the model code of conduct.

Arshdeep Singh Kler, chief spokesperson and president of the legal wing of the SAD, submitted the complaint on behalf of the party. The complaint alleges that during the event held on the auspicious day of Baisakhi, Cabinet minister Laljit Singh Bhullar made derogatory remarks against his political opponents and used casteist language.

Arshdeep Singh Kler alleged that such conduct was not only criminal but also highly condemnable. He said the Punjab minister's actions had deeply hurt the sentiments of the state's people and revealed the true nature of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership. He said immediate legal action, including the registration of an FIR and the arrest of the minister, should be taken.

Besides filing the complaint with the Election Commission, a copy of the complaint was also sent to the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab for necessary action. The party has sought strict measures to address the violation of constitutional provisions and the model code of conduct.
