Parliament security breach: Rajya Sabha suspends TMC MP Derek OBrien after confrontation with Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar
Parliament security breach: Amid the uproar following the Lok Sabha security breach during the winter session proceedings at the Rajya Sabha, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar instructed Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O'Brien to leave the House due to what was deemed as 'disorderly conduct'.
TMC MP Derek O'Brien had requested a discussion on the incident wherein two persons breached security by entering the Lok Sabha from the visitors' gallery and released canisters of yellow smoke. In response, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar singled out the TMC MP, instructing him to immediately vacate the House.

"Derek O'Brien has violated the privilege. Derek O'Brien is named to leave the House immediately... Derek O'Brien claims he will disregard the Chair... Derek O'Brien asserts he will not adhere to the rules. This is a grave misbehaviour. This is an embarrassing incident," Dhankhar stated, expelling the Trinamool leader due to 'disorderly conduct'.
Despite repeated warnings, MPs persisted with their protest, urging a discussion on the Parliament security breach, resulting in the House being adjourned.

Before the adjournment, the Rajya Sabha Chairman addressed the security breach incident, mentioning an ongoing high-level investigation and the filing of an FIR.
