Chandigarh road rage: One killed as speeding Thar rams into cyclist, scooty rider on Kansal–Kaimbwala road

PTC News Desk: In another road rage incident, a speeding Thar rammed into pedestrians in Chandigarh killing one on the spot while critically injuring the other. The incident unfolded on late Wednesday night around 12:30 a.m. on the Kansal–Kaimbwala road.
The accused was identified as Mukul Khatri, a junior lawyer at the Punjab and Haryana High Court and a resident of Sukhna Enclave.
According to the eyewitnesses, the driver, identifie as who was reportedly intoxicated first hit a cow, then rammed into a cyclist, and finally collided with a scooter rider. The cyclist died on the spot, while the person on the scooter was seriously injured.

Soon after the incident the bystanders informed the police and rushed the injured injured scooter rider to Sector-16 Hospital. According to police officials, the area is located behind the Civil Secretariat and the Assembly complex, which remains deserted at night. The triple collision occurred due to reckless and high-speed driving. The police have seized the Thar and registered a case against the accused, launching an investigation into the incident.
