PTC News Desk: Tense scenes were seen in Moga as police detained several farmers who had gathered to protest during a public rally of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at the New Grain Market.

The situation began earlier when farmers assembled near a gurdwara in Duneke village. Police stopped them and kept them at a nearby cremation ground for around four hours to stop them from reaching the rally. Despite tight security, some farmers managed to get through and reached the venue.

As soon as they arrived, police detained them and took them away in official vehicles to nearby police stations.

Farmers raised slogans against the Punjab government, accusing it of trying to silence them. Their leaders said it was ironic that leaders who once encouraged public questioning are now avoiding it.

The protesters wanted answers from the Chief Minister on several issues, including rising drug abuse in Punjab, alleged fake encounters, the removal of farmers from the Khanauri protest site, and problems related to farming logistics like tractor-trolleys.

One farmer leader said they are facing injustice and warned that if the government does not listen, there will be consequences. Farmer unions also warned that the protests will expand
