Jalandhar highway accident: Four killed as Baleno and Creta cars collide near Kishangarh on Jammu highway
PTC Web Desk: A Jalandhar highway accident on the Jammu National Highway near Kishangarh resulted in a fatal collision between a Maruti Baleno and a Hyundai Creta, leaving four persons dead and five others seriously injured. The incident took place early in the morning near Johal Dhaba area, causing major disruption on the busy route.
According to initial reports, the Baleno car lost control while crossing the divider and entered the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with the Creta vehicle. The impact of the Jalandhar highway accident was so severe that both vehicles were extensively damaged and parts were scattered across the road.
Police officials said the accident occurred around 5.41 am. The State Special Force (SSF) received information from a passerby. The Baleno was travelling from Bhogpur towards Jalandhar, while the Creta was moving from Jalandhar towards Pathankot at the time of the crash.
Four occupants of the Baleno died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Rupinder Singh, Harpreet Kaur, Arshdeep Singh and Santosh Kaur, all residents of Himmatpur in Hoshiarpur district. The family was reportedly travelling to Nanded Sahib for religious pilgrimage.
Five occupants of the Creta, residents of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, sustained critical injuries. They were immediately rushed to Fortis Hospital in Jalandhar with the help of locals before the police arrived at the scene.
