According to Samra, the video was allegedly recorded inside a hotel room booked in the name of a person identified as Jarnail Singh. However, he said he has no information about who recorded the video, who owned the phone used for recording or how it was originally stored. He also said authorities are free to search his residence if required.
Earlier, Samra rejected Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's claim that the controversial video featured someone wearing a prosthetic mask resembling him. In a 47-second video shared by Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Samra denied ever receiving or paying for any such mask. He questioned why a forensic report was allegedly prepared if the video was fake.
In another video shared by Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Samra claimed that more controversial videos related to the Punjab Chief Minister would be released in the coming days. He also alleged that a video related to a parody of a religious prayer (ardas) would be made public. Samra further claimed that previous explanations given regarding the authenticity of the videos had changed over time.
Samra said he has known Bhagwant Mann since childhood and claimed he had attended his wedding and even provided his vehicle during one of Mann's shoots. These claims have not been independently confirmed.
