Manpreet Singh Ayali to join Waris Punjab De days after parting ways with SAD(Punar Surjeet)
Ayali confirmed that he would officially associate himself with Waris Punjab De, although he has been linked to the outfit for several months.
PTC News Desk: Rebel Manpreet Singh Ayali, an MLA from Dakha and a member of the Shiromani Akali Dal, is set to formally join Waris Punjab De, led by Amritpal Singh, at a ceremony in Chandigarh on Tuesday. The event will be presided over by Amritpal Singh’s father, Tarsem Singh.
Ayali confirmed that he would officially associate himself with Waris Punjab De, although he has been linked to the outfit for several months. During the Zila Parishad and Panchayat elections, candidates backed by him reportedly campaigned using photographs of Amritpal Singh, signalling his growing proximity to the organisation.
Since Waris Punjab De is not a registered political party, Ayali is unlikely to face disqualification under anti-defection laws. However, the Shiromani Akali Dal could choose to take disciplinary action, including expelling him from the party.
The Dakha MLA also claimed that several political leaders and supporters were waiting for his decision before making their own political moves.
Waris Punjab De is sure to have a strong base at the ground level, and people will see this in the coming days,” he said.
He further asserted that the next five to six months would witness a series of high-profile inductions into the organisation.
“Gradually, all the details will come out about who the bigwigs joining Waris Punjab De are,” he added.
Ayali had previously aligned himself with the SAD (Punar Surjeet) faction before later distancing himself from the group.
His entry is being viewed as a significant boost for Waris Punjab De as it seeks to strengthen its political presence in Punjab ahead of future electoral battles.
