Two 17-year-old friends from Hamirgarh Dhaipai village lost their lives after a speeding trailer rammed into their motorcycle cart near Bhikhi canal bridge in Mansa district

Punjab Mansa tragedy: Two teenage friends were killed in a tragic road accident near Bhikhi town in Punjab's Mansa district on Tuesday night after a speeding trailer allegedly rammed into their motorcycle cart.

The deceased have been identified as Sukhvir Singh and Raninder Singh, both 17-year-old residents of Hamirgarh Dhaipai village. According to information received, the two friends had travelled to Bhikhi to purchase a cooler and were returning home with it loaded on their motorcycle cart.

The accident occurred on the Bhikhi canal bridge when an unidentified trailer, reportedly moving at high speed, struck their vehicle. The impact left both teenagers critically injured.

Locals rushed the victims for medical treatment, but they succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, the police said.

Following the accident, the trailer driver fled the scene and remains unidentified. A case has been registered against the unknown driver and efforts are underway to trace the vehicle involved in the crash.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
