Minor arrested for sexually assaulting 5-year-old boy in Punjabs Dasuya
The accused, along with two of his friends, lived in a rented room near victim's house
PTC Web Desk: A shocking case of sexual assault against a five-year-old boy has come to light in Dasuya in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district. The child, who sustained injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital, Dasuya.
According to the victim’s mother, Bimla Devi, a resident of Dasuya, her five-year-old son had gone out of the house for about an hour on Thursday evening. When he returned home crying, he narrated the incident to her. On confronting the accused, Bimla said the youth initially apologised and admitted to the crime. However, upon seeing her husband, brother and other relatives gathering at the spot, he fled.
The child was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital, Dasuya. Bimla further told the police that the accused, along with two of his friends, lived in a rented room near her house and sold juice on Hoshiarpur Road. After the assault, all three reportedly went missing.
Investigation Officer Anil Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered based on the family’s complaint. He added that the prime accused has been apprehended and, during the investigation, it was revealed that the accused himself is a minor.
The police have initiated further investigation to verify the details and trace the other two persons who fled the scene after the incident.
