PTC News Desk: In a deeply disturbing case from Punjab's Bathinda, a woman was arrested for allegedly killing her two young children by administering rat poison to continue her illicit affair. She killed her children as they were allegedly becoming an obstacle in her romantic relationship.

According to reports, about 15 days ago, a 12-year-old girl died under suspicious circumstances and was cremated by the family. On Friday night, her seven-year-old younger brother, Fatehveer, also died. Following this, villagers raised suspicion against the children’s mother.

On Saturday morning, the village sarpanch and other residents approached the police station in Phul, demanding a fair investigation into both deaths, as they suspected the mother’s involvement. Village resident Bharpoor Singh said the entire village had doubts regarding the children’s deaths.

Rampura Phul DSP Manoj Kumar stated that the deceased boy’s post-mortem would be conducted, and the exact cause of death would be determined after the report. Police are continuing their investigation.
