PTC News Desk:  Punjab government has transferred 177 Naib tehsildars and 58 tehsildars. Earlier on Tuesday, in a significant development, Punjab government had suspended 14 tehsildars after ultimatum over their refusal to register sale deeds.

Department of Revenue and Rehabilitation issued a notification citing transfers of Naib tehsildars and tehsildars with immediate effect.

Notably, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had warned tehsildars to resume work after 5 pm of face suspension. The tehsildars/naib tehsildars across the state went on a mass casual leave in order to protest against vigilance's action. Owing to the strike, no registries of land could be done on Monday or Tuesday, causing a huge loss to the Revenue Department of the state.
