Punjab govt capable enough: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann denies CBI probe into DM Gagandeep Randhawa death case
The chief minister asserted that Punjab government is capable enough to carry out transparent investigation into the matter.
PTC News Desk: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday denied CBI investigation into the death of Punjab Warehousing Corporation official Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, who died by suicide on March 21. The chief minister asserted that Punjab government is capable enough to carry out transparent investigation into the matter.
The chief minister added that the accused minister has already resigned and subsequently arrested following the grave allegations. The Chief Secretary has also been directed to conduct an inquiry and strict action must be taken against the culprit.
Meanwhile, post-mortem examination of Gagandeep Randhawa was conducted at a civil hospital under the supervision of an executive magistrate, four days after his death.
The death of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa- district manager at Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, triggered a political storm across Punjab with opposition leaders cutting across the party line demanded a CBI probe.
Massive uproar erupted in the Parliament after the issue was raised by Punjab MPs with Union Home Minister Amit Shah assuring investigation by the central agency.
