Punjab govt suspends Vigilance SSP Lakhbir Singh, was also linked to Bikram Majithia arrest
Action reportedly taken after allegations that he failed to act in a case involving a well-known social activist from Amritsar
PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Government has taken disciplinary action against Vigilance Bureau SSP Lakhbir Singh, suspending him from service in a move that has drawn political attention across the state. Lakhbir Singh had earlier led the team that arrested Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia on June 25, making the suspension particularly significant.
According to official sources, the action was initiated after allegations surfaced that the officer failed to act in a case involving a well-known social activist from Amritsar. Despite the registration of a complaint, no follow-up action was reportedly taken, prompting the state government to intervene.
