Rajvir Jawanda's cremation today

Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda will be laid to rest in his native village in Ludhiana's Jagraon today. He succumbed to multi-organ failure after 11-days long battle for life at Fortis Hospital. He was admitted to hospital on September 27 in an extremely critical condition. 

Doctors had earlier said that the accident has caused extensive damage to his spine and brain.

PTC News Desk: Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda, who passed away on Wednesday after 11-days long battle for life following major road accident, will be cremated today in his native village in Jagraon, Ludhiana. 


His mortal remains were initially taken to his residence in Mohali's Sector 71 and later were brought to his native village in Ludhiana's Jagraon following a post mortem at Civil Hospital. 


The 35-year-old Punjabi singer had sustained grievous head and spinal injuries in a motorcycle accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on September 27.


Fortis Hospital authorities confirmed that Jawanda was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali in an “extremely critical” condition and succumbed to multi-organ failure on September 8.


Despite intensive medical care and prolonged ventilator support, Jawanda’s neurological status remained severely compromised with minimal brain activity. The hospital had described his prognosis as “guarded.”


His untimely demise has left the entire Punjabi industry in a state of mourning. 


Jawanda, known for his popular Punjabi tracks, could not recover from the extensive trauma and succumbed late on Tuesday, leaving the Punjabi music fraternity and his fans in shock.
