The Shiromani Akali Dal, Congress and the BJP earlier announced that they will jointly hold protest against the Aam Aadmi Party government and encircle the residence of the Chief Minister's to press their demand for the arrest of Bhullar.
SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia told the reporters that Bhullar should have been arrested immediately in the matter and that the family has refused to cremate Gagandeep until arrest of Bhullar.
However several leaders including Bikram Singh Majithia were detained during the protest as heavy police deployment was in place to prevent the protestors from heading towards Chief Minister's residence.
According to the complainant, Upinder Kaur, wife of the deceased, the conflict began over tenders issued in October 2025 for new warehouses in the Patti and Khemkaran areas of Tarn Taran. She also alleged that her husband was tortured to an extent that it pushed him to end his life.
