Sector 32 pharmacy firing: Two gangsters shot at in police encounter in Chandigarh, one arrested

PTC News Desk: In a significant breakthrough, two gangsters were shot in a police encounter and one arrested in connection with firing at Sector 32 pharmacy firing. The injured have been admitted to hospital for treatment. The gangsters were reportedly associated with the Saba gang and had also threatened a businessman a few days ago.


The gangsters were shot after a brief chase. All three were travelling in a car, which then crashed into a pole, injuring all three. During the subsequent exchange of fire, two accused — identified as Rahul and Ricky — were shot in leg, while the third was driving the car.


Following the firing at the chemist shop in Sector 32, questions were raised about the Chandigarh Police’s response, prompting heightened vigilance across all police stations, including the Crime Branch.


The accused were in a car when police tried to stop them, but they allegedly opened fire. Police retaliated, during which Rahul was shot in the leg and another accused was also injured by gunfire. The driver tried to flee but the police surrounded the vehicle, which then rammed into a pole. The gangsters were subsequently apprehended.
