PTC Web Desk:  Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of using religion for political purposes and attempting to influence Sikh institutions.

Addressing a press conference at the party office in Sector 28, Chandigarh, Sukhbir Singh Badal alleged that Giani Raghbir Singh was acting like a worker of AAP. He claimed that such actions were hurting the dignity and sanctity of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest temporal seat of the Sikh community.

Issuing a direct warning to the Punjab Government, Sukhbir Singh Badal said religion should not be used as a political tool. He challenged the government to take action against him directly if it had any allegations, adding that he would not be intimidated by what he described as political threats.

The SAD chief also targeted the government over water-related issues, alleging that the Bhagwant Mann-led government was misleading Punjab’s farmers on canal and water management matters. He expressed concern over the rising water level in the Bhakra Dam and claimed that the government was once again failing to take timely preventive measures, potentially exposing the state to serious risks.

Speaking on the ongoing protests by apprentice linemen, Sukhbir Singh Badal condemned the alleged use of force against young protesters. He said the government's response had exposed its true face despite its claims of standing with ordinary people.
