Two youths from Tarn Taran die in tragic truck accident in British Columbia, Canada

PTC Web Desk: A devastating road accident in British Columbia has left two families in grief in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district. Two young men from the district lost their lives after a truck accident near Fort Nelson in Canada.

The deceased have been identified as Talwinder Singh Gill (32), a resident of Mari Gaur Singh village in the Bhikhiwind area, and Jasbir Singh (30) from Alowal village near Viroval. Both were working in Canada and had moved abroad in search of better career opportunities.

According to reports, the accident occurred on Highway 97 near the city of Fort Nelson. The two men were reportedly on duty and driving a truck when it suddenly went out of control and plunged into a deep gorge beside the road.

The crash was extremely severe, leaving the truck badly damaged and trapping both occupants inside. Local police and emergency teams rushed to the scene after receiving information about the accident. Rescue workers managed to pull the two men out of the wreckage after considerable effort, but they had already succumbed to their injuries.

Talwinder Singh’s father, Maninderjeet Singh, said that his son had moved abroad nearly four years ago with hopes of building a better future for the family. He described Talwinder as a hardworking and sincere young man. Family members also revealed that Jasbir Singh was Talwinder’s maternal cousin.

Following the incident, Canadian authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the grieving families have appealed to the authorities to help bring the bodies back to India at the earliest so that the last rites can be performed in their hometowns.
