Punjab outsourced health department employees to protest outside Dr. Balbir Singhs residence on August 31 over pending demands
The employees have warned of intensifying the agitation if their demands remain unaddressed.
PTC News Desk: The Outsourced Health Department Employees’ Union Punjab will hold a protest demonstration on Monday, August 31, 2026, outside the residence of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh in Patiala, seeking resolution of the legitimate demands and long-pending issues of outsourced employees.
State President of the Outsourced Health Department Employees’ Union Punjab, Gurjinder Singh Aulakh, said that outsourced employees of the Health Department have been repeatedly raising their legitimate demands and problems to the notice of the government for a long time. However, he said, no concrete solution has so far been provided to address their concerns.
Rajesh Pawar, District President, Patiala, said that a large number of outsourced Health Department employees from various districts of Punjab would participate in the protest on August 31. He said that through the demonstration, the union would strongly raise the demands and problems of the employees before the government.
Union Organizer Harpal Singh Tiwana said that the main objective of the protest was to draw the government’s attention towards the long-pending demands of outsourced employees. He urged the government to seriously consider the legitimate demands of the employees and resolve them at the earliest.
General Secretary Sarbjit Singh said that a protest demonstration would also be held during the programme and employees from across Punjab would stand united to make their voice heard by the government.
Press Secretary Harwinderpal Singh said that if the Punjab Government failed to provide a concrete solution to the employees’ demands, the union would intensify its agitation. He said that the union could also decide to expand the agitation and announce stronger programmes in the coming days.
On the occasion, State General Secretary Harmandeep Singh Sidhu, State Finance Secretary Nazar Singh, Assistant Treasurer Veerpal Kaur, Joint Secretaries Dr. Deesha Chhabra and Ramanpreet Kaur, Organizer Jatinder Singh, Office Secretary Jagmeet Singh, along with other union leaders, were present.
