Sushma Swaraj Condoles Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Wife Demise

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj expressed her condolences over the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday. She passed away on Tuesday after the complications arising from cancer.

Swaraj tweeted, "I am sorry to know about the sad demise of Mrs.Kulsoom Nawaz. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May her soul rest in peace."

Begum Kulsoom was under treatment at London’s Harley Street Clinic since June 2017. She was placed on life support last night. Sources at the clinic said she had developed a lungs problem again.  Begum Kulsoom was diagnosed with lymphoma (throat) cancer in August 2017.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif and her son, Hussain Nawaz, confirmed that the former first lady breathed her last at a clinic in London.

Her death was announced by Shehbaz Sharif, Kulsoom's brother-in-law and the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and her son Hussain Nawaz, Geo News reported.
