New Delhi, August 13: In anticipation of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media on Sunday, changing his profile picture to proudly display the Indian flag, also known as the 'Tiranga'.

In an inspiring move, PM Modi called upon the citizens of the nation to join the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign by altering their own social media display pictures (DPs) to feature the national flag, fostering a deeper connection between the people and their beloved country.

Sharing his vision for the movement, PM Modi tweeted, "In the spirit of the #HarGharTiranga movement, let us change the DP of our social media accounts and extend support to this unique effort which will deepen the bond between our beloved country and us." This call to action echoed his earlier appeal on Friday, urging all Indians to participate in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' movement from August 13 to 15 this year.

Highlighting the symbolism behind the Indian flag, PM Modi underlined its significance as a representation of freedom and national unity. He encouraged individuals to showcase their emotional connection to the Tricolour by uploading their photographs featuring the Tiranga on the designated 'Har Ghar Tiranga' website. "The Tiranga symbolises the spirit of freedom and national unity. Every Indian has an emotional connect with the Tricolour and it inspires us to work harder to further national progress," PM Modi expressed through his tweet.

His enthusiasm for the campaign was evident as he rallied the nation with a firm call to action: "I urge you all to take part in the Har Ghar Tiranga movement between 13th to 15th August. Upload your photos with the Tiranga here..." The sentiment behind the campaign resonated deeply as it aimed to unite the citizens under the banner of patriotism and shared values.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the Independence Day celebrations, a grand event where around 1,800 special guests from across India are set to attend the flag hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, security measures have been enhanced across the National Capital, as per police officials. Delhi police have heightened checks and security measures to ensure a safe and smooth celebration of the nation's independence.

As the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' movement gains momentum, it becomes a testament to the collective pride and unity of the nation, fostering a stronger sense of patriotism and connection among the citizens. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm, India moves forward into its Independence Day celebrations, poised to celebrate its history, values, and shared identity.
