ICC Mens Cricket World Cup 2023: Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who had expressed concerns over the viral video showing India's cricket legend Kapil Dev seemingly being led into a room by two unidentified men, has revealed the context behind the clip. The video raised questions about Kapil Dev's well-being, with many wondering if it was genuine or part of an advertising stunt.

Gambhir clarified that the video was, in fact, a promotional shoot for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India. He playfully commended Kapil Dev's acting skills, stating that he would win the "Acting World Cup" and highlighted that the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup would be available for free on Disney Hotstar mobile.

Kapil Dev, renowned for his achievements in cricket, played 131 Test matches, scoring 5,248 runs and taking 438 wickets. In One-Day Internationals (ODIs), he participated in 225 matches, securing 253 wickets and amassing 3,783 runs. Kapil Dev's iconic innings of 175 in the 1983 World Cup played a pivotal role in India's victory in the tournament.

The cricketing legend received the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards and retired from professional cricket in 1994.

The viral video, once a source of concern, was revealed to be a lighthearted promotion, showcasing Kapil Dev's versatility beyond the cricket field.
