According to the report, Pant has an advantage over Hardik in the contest to be Rohit Sharma's deputy in the T20 World Cup 2024 due to their present form.
According to the report, BCCI selectors will meet on May 1st to select the T20 World Cup 2024 team, and they may consider taking Hardik Pandya's vice-captaincy and handing it to Rishabh Pant instead. He will be given the task again, having already performed the role before to his injury.

Expected team members
