PTC Web Desk: The Australian cricket team, victorious in the Cricket World Cup 2023 held in India, arrived home following their remarkable campaign. Pat Cummins led his team to a resounding victory against hosts India in the final, securing Australia's sixth ODI World Cup title.

Despite their exceptional performance, the reception for the world champions upon their return left social media puzzled. Fans expressed surprise and disappointment as the Australian cricketers did not receive the anticipated heroes' welcome.

The team's remarkable achievement included a convincing win against an undefeated Indian team in the final, showcasing their prowess across batting, bowling, and fielding to claim the coveted title.

Reflecting on the monumental win, Pat Cummins shared his excitement about the historic victory but mentioned that the full impact of becoming ODI world champions is yet to sink in.

"We are still buzzing. Every moment, the realisation that we just won a World Cup hits us again," Cummins stated. "Competing in a tournament like this, especially in India, is challenging."

While some members of the Australian squad returned home, a few remained in India for the upcoming 5-match T20I series, commencing on November 23.
